仕事に一息ついて英語のお勉強。CNET Japan - 梅田望夫・英語で読むITトレンド：公開企業の経営情報を無料で入手するで紹介されていたthe EDGAR DatabaseのiPassの株式公開に当たっての目論見書(prospectus)のなかのRisk Factorをちょっと読む。

下に記述するリスク要因を斟酌して投資しろよ、と。挙げられているリスク要因が起こった場合には、株価が下がり得ますよ。

以下、iPassそのものの持つリスクが19、業界の持つリスクが4、株式公開に関するリスクが6挙げられている。

We have incurred significant operating losses in the past and may incur significant operating losses in the future.
過去に重大な経営上の損失を被ったことがあるし、この先、また損失を被る可能性があります。incur - 招く、被る

We experienced significant operating losses in each quarter from our inception in 1996 through the first quarter of 2002. Although we were profitable in 2002 and in the first six months of 2003, $24.3 million of our $29.8 million in net income in 2002 was due to a non-recurring tax benefit.
